Leah’s Wedding

I’ve got a busy weekend of packing ahead of me, but I wanted to pop in and share some of the photos from the wedding last weekend. As I mentioned, it was a couple of my good friends from high school who got married so it was like a mini high school reunion. Here I am with the bride at the rehearsal dinner:

I spent a lot of the weekend catching up with my friend Hannah (who was also a bridesmaid), who I haven’t seen in years. We used to be super close in high school, then drifted apart in college. Now she lives in Georgia with her husband and I’m hoping to take a trip down to Atlanta sometime soon to visit them!

Hannah and I carpooled to the rehearsal dinner with our friend Curtis (who was a groomsman), who we also know from high school.

Here’s the whole high school crew after dinner:

On the day of the wedding, all of the bridesmaids met at Studio 415 in Traverse City to get our hair done. I absolutely LOVED what my stylist did with my hair. I told her I wanted something fun and flow-ey, and she nailed it.

I wish I could have a personal stylist every day.

Hannah and I did our own make-up after our hair was done while enjoying some breakfast sandwiches and mimosas.

When we were done at the salon we headed over to Black Star Farms – a winery out in Suttons Bay where the reception was going to be held. Leah had a room at the inn and we used it to relax and get ready before the ceremony. Here’s the bride to be!

Soon it was time to get changed and ready for pictures. I absolutely loved her dress, and the bridesmaids dresses were so pretty  also.

Chris and Leah wrote beautiful heart-felt letters to each other to read as they were getting ready before the first look pictures. It was so special to watch her read hers! The two have been together for nearly eight years, and anyone who knows them knows that they are truly meant to be together forever.

After about a half hour of pictures, we all piled in the car and headed to the church for the ceremony.

The ceremony was quite emotional because Chris’s dad is actually the minister and he was the one marrying them. It was really special and I was honored to be a part of it.

We took more pictures at the church after the ceremony, and then again once we were back at Black Star Farms. I managed to steal this one of the wedding party from Chris’s dad:

Next up was the reception! Leah had a second dress that she changed into for this part of the night because her dress wasn’t really made for moving around much. I loved her reception dress though, and I really like the idea of having two dresses! It seems to be quite trendy right now.

The rest of the night was spent enjoying great company, eating good food, and celebrating the newlyweds.

Sparkler exit!

Such a wonderful weekend 🙂

Congrats to Chris and Leah!! Wishing you many years of happiness.

By the way, did you guys happen to catch my new banner up top? It’s the Grand Rapids skyline and I absolutely love it. My friend Eric put it together for me. He’s become really good at photography and is great at graphic design. Be sure to check out his Facebook page (Infinitis Media) to see his daily posts. He also has an online media gallery that you can view here.
